A warning from police: don't hire contractors who come knocking on your door. Police say scam artists did shoddy work laying the asphalt at a home in Osceola County, and they say there may be more victims.
The sheriff says the people who did the work drove a truck that said "Citizens Asphalt" on the side of it. Now they're on the lookout for them, and the homeowner who shelled out the money for the work hopes others will learn from his mistake.
The sheriff suggests before hiring workers, check their references, or call police, and they'll check them out for you.
9&10's Jodi Hathaway and photojournalist Joel Deaner saw the work first-hand and have more on the victim's story.
