I find it sort of amusing how they always have some "bigger" person with a medical event thing. I try to identify that person early on.

cripes after watching a bunch of em I think I could cook scallops or risotto

Yup, every year you can set your watch by the show. It is getting pretty predictable. The older guy can cook and so could Ralph a few years back. Ramsey says they are to set in their ways and are to old to be long term Head chefs in his restaurants but he still has them on the show. And yes always medical issues and drama with the women. That Italian women can't manage herself let alone a kitchen staff. I would wholesale the bunch right outta there and start fresh.

"Heck's Kitchen" vs. "Master Chef"

What drives me nuts is that all of the "chef-testants" on "Heck's Kitchen" are already professional chefs, yet the vast majority of 'em can't seem to cook their way out of a wet paper bag. On the other hand, the contestants on Master Chef are amateur or home chefs, yet typically they could cook circles around the "professionals" on "Heck's Kitchen". How the "heck" is that?
