announces new director
Milestone Senior Living recently announced the appointment of Nikki Donner Reed as community director of its new assisted-living facility, located at 2332 Railroad St. in Eagle River.
A native of the Sugar Camp area, Reed looks forward to returning after being located in Madison the last several months as regional marketing manager for Milestone Management Services.
Reed started in the health-care field in the early 1990s at the former Eagle River Health Care Center. She also opened and managed the Milestone assisted-living location in Rhinelander.
The Settle Inn will be renovated to include 16 apartments on the second floor and 19 suites on the first floor, for a total of 35 units of assisted care, and a chef will be hired to provide dining.
Milestone Senior Living provides assisted-living options for seniors and has been in operation for more than 13 years.
The service currently operates six assisted-living residences in Wisconsin and Minnesota in a campus setting including dementia-specific services.

Lillian Kerr assisted-living in Phelps sold & new owners closing Lillian Kerr by end of Q1 2011 & opening new facility in Rhinelander. Milestone Senior Living will fill void for those who want to stay near ER & Phelps. Plenty of very nice hotels/motels in ER so Settle Inn change to assisted-living is well timed for Seniors in Phelps.

I am unaware of any waterparks in Eagle River or any plans for anyone to build one. There is one in Wausau and maybe one in Minoqua.
