shock covers show or go?

I clean and wipe down my shocks after every ride. Do the covers work good for you or are they a waste of cash?

I have them but think they are a waste just did not want to replace the springs (yellow). Its always in an enclosed trailer so I just think its more look then anything else.

I think they help keep the snow out of the springs when riding in deep stuff, but I would agree primarily for looks. I also added black ones on my sled to get more black on it.

If Monster made some they would add 3-5 hp depending on model they where put on! Less drag!

Maybe they will keep the corn husks outta my springs this winter when we rip through my buddies cornfield.

More for show than anything else. I've heard people say that they "hold in" moisture and cause early rust/corrosion. Not sure how much truth there would be to that though....I assume it's possible though. I wouldn't waste the money.

x2 on the rust issue, I have them (for show, again not wanting to replace the yellow spings) and take them off when it's in the garage as I want to avoid the rust. I had a buddy say he needed to replace the shock after he left them on for a summer though, I'm not risking that.
