shock rebuilding

JDer's its been awhile since I have posted on here, but I have still been slaving away on our University of Minnesota clean snowmobile. We currently have fox shocks on our Indy 600 SP from the factory. I want to learn how to rebuild shocks as just a handy thing to know. I am an engineer so I like to understand how things work. I reached out to fox and they claimed that they don't condone rebuilding and etc. Does anyone on here have experience doing these rebuilds that could either email me some instructions, or talk on the phone, live in the metro area that could come help on a weekend?? Also I know that its probably better to buy newer shocks, but we operate on a small budget and this is to help with costs down the road.
Thanks!

Fox does not want YOU to rebuild their shocks or says no rebuilding in general? Rebuilding shocks is routine no use buying new ones unless complete rusty mess.

Ed let me call you later on this week. I have to figure out some logistics. I live in N. Illinois but have a house not too far away from paddock lake. I wouldn't be able to come to the shop until I am home on break in december, but i would rather probably learn how to do this in person. I have basic mechanical skills and know my ways with tools. Is it a difficult process to do? I have seen some videos on youtube of dirt bike shock rebuilds but didnt have the guts to try and mimic a snowmobile shock. Whitedust, FOX said that the information is proprietary and that they dont condone it (most likely a marketing plug to spend another 2500 every so often).

Polaris gives FOX a boat load of money buying shocks.

Polaris has spent a boat load of money on design for thier application.

Polaris and thier dealers then make a bigger boat load of money on parts and service for those shocks.

If you put too many people in the boat it will sink. They would prefer to have the boat all to themselves.

Polaris, because they are a "BIG" FOX customer, is in charge (Captain) of the passenger list.
