Bro, there was discussion on another area about Trail 108 near Kenton showing rocks and only being panned not groomed. I would trailer further north, I am.
You will definitely want to stay further north. We talked with guys this weekend that stayed at the Lake Gogebic Lodge and the trails are virtually not ride-able that far south as of 12/17. They ended up trailering to The Pit Stop in Greenland and going from there. If you want trail or groomer info talk to Jerry there, he's one of the guys who runs the groomer and also rides a ton of miles..great guy. We found that the Rockland/Greenland/Twin Lakes/Rousseau areas were all good with the exception of the Bill Nicholls Route that runs from Greenland to Twin Lakes that hasn't been groomed yet, but has some fire roads and play areas with 3ft of snow in places if you are into that type of riding. We stayed in Rockland and between Friday night to Sunday morning I would say it snowed a good 11-12" of LES there. Twins Lakes has a lot of snow and I heard from numerous locals that Calumet has the most. Good luck!
hey superbawn, that was Jake and I that you talked to. Hope you had some good riding in ! We ended up trailering up to Twin Lakes on Monday, great trails also!
we rode around Mass City Yesterday and the trails were like glass. Although only rode a tiny bit on three around Mass and about 10 miles north of Mass. A few scattered rocks popping up still. Mostly rode off trail which was also very good. Still early season folks.. Jerry from the Put stop did mention he was planning to groom up 13.
Hey Durphee, Good to meet you guys! The early season riding was great. Jeff headed back up there yesterday with his son, unfortunately I couldn't go. He got the last room available in the area on a cancellation and said the trails are just as good as they were when we were there. The snow off trail has settled, but who cares if the trails are good! Ride on.
