yes, side by sides are now legal in wisconsin, but if the county you live in don't want them, they can put a ban on them, Iron County wisc. in our area allows them, not sure of the other surronding countys.

I was thinking the same thing. We saw one of these in Clark county WI last year but I dont think they were riding the trails. Most of the trails in that area between Black River Falls (which is a major zoo hub for ATV's) and around Fairchild/Osseo are fairly wide. In my opinion, I think this is going to cause some major issues with safety but again I am all for it.

I got an update

I called both Douglas county and Bayfeild county yesterday and asked both if UTV's were leagal in their counties. Douglas said NOT yet that they are meeting in June to discuss it. Bayfield also said NOT yet but they are meeting in 2 weeks and the lady said it looks very good for it pass that there is alot of support for it. So lets hope they pass them soon so we can ride.

Where to ride side by sides in Wisconsin.

Here is a good site to follow for the latest counties in Wisconsin that allow UTVs. It will change as they pass their resolution to adopt the new 2 year trial UTV program. Click on the "Where to ride". Also has all the info on registering your UTV to ride there. http://www.wiutv.org/

If you go to the link above that doo_600ho put up and read the UTV bill language it says 65" is max wheel base it is about half way down.

Many trails need to be widened before some counties will open up to wider machines. That means more land that may be used from private land owners. I, myself hope it happens so all can enjoy the pleasures of the outdoors.
