Sidnaw to L’anse

I read somewhere that this trail is washed out ? Does anyone out there have accurate, recent info so this trail? I think it is 15 & 8/15 ?

Slim and I are headed that way today from Houghton, hoping to get to Big Bay via Lanse.

We rode from Bergland to Big Bay on Sunday 26th. The trail is closed northwest of where you turn on 15 to go to Lanse. The trails were very
good the whole way. Returned down 5 and back on 15 which were all good also.

thanks for the info. I am still a bit confused. So we can't get to L'anse via trail 15? I assume you rode 14 to Big Bay?

trail 8/15N still goes to Baraga and L'Anse and then continues on 14E to Big Bay,,,,same as always....
the closed section is north of the Sturgeon River area , up near Silver Mountain.... it now re-routes to Rousseau and Mass City, via trail 12

If your referring to the big washout that occurred this summer, that is on trail 109 near Silver Mountain. Trail 8 and 15 to get from Sidnaw to L'Anse was not affected. I rode Sidnaw to L'Anse a week ago and that part is the same trail it has always been. Trail 109 is re-routed and is marked. Current maps have the re-route, including the maps on MSASnow website. I heard it does add something like 30+ miles to get you from certain point A to point B. From Sidnaw trail 109 gets you to the towns of Alston, Rousseau, and Mass City.

you forgot to mention how messed up 8/15 was today! save yourself the experience until they get a couple of grooms in. It was horrible today. Worse I've personally ever seen it. Lot's of traffic and too warm.

you forgot to mention how messed up 8/15 was today! save yourself the experience until they get a couple of grooms in. It was horrible today. Worse I've personally ever seen it. Lot's of traffic and too warm.

Sorry that happened to you guys today. I had my hands full with painters this week but thought about you all day on our traditional Lanse RT. First time ever that route was U turned due to bad groom. Crying shame Sidnaw and Iron County used to be cream of the crop groomers. I wonder what is wrong????

groomers were out but warmer temps and weekend traffic was too much for them to keep up
