Headed to Silver City on Saturday through Monday. How are the trails from Silver City to Lake of the Clouds to Bergland to White Pine and Silver City? Mainly 1 (Bergland to Silver City), 11 and 102 Silver City to Bergland and possibly 13 to 12 (Bergland to Rockland then over to White Pine)? Family riding so not alot of miles just a weekend away.

Just put in 230 miles last night 12/26 and today 12/27 in Gogebic area. Some water spots on 102 towards Lake in Clouds, mostly great riding actually. Silver City is snirt at best. 1 back down crappy until South of Konteka. Lake is 5-6’ ice, fully rideable. 2 out to Bessemer was decent but that’s when the rain hit and stuck the whole afternoon. Just now turning to snow, sort of. 2 down to Rogers was decent. Given the rain on top of the 3’ we got last night I’m not complaining. We’re having fun and never met a depressed person ripping a bile! Sure, could be colder and could be sitting on more snow but it is what it is. Will head up to Houghton area tomorrow and see what that’s like. Happier to be here then at work.

I know I am late to this post but just returned from a stay at Fish Tales. There Is plenty of snow on Gogibic to go pretty much anywhere. We rode rode up the lake and out of Bergland on 13 north to 101 north and it was one of the best trails we hit all weekend, twisty, hard base with a couple of inches on top and not to icy. 1 north past 101 was not groomed and I was told has not been groomed as Rockland groomers were not out due to low snow base. 101 north was nice flat and straight all to way to 12. 12 was a disaster and had most folks riding the road to 1 north, same with 1 north through Kontica and up to Silver City. The trail from Silver city was rough, with plenty of snow, but also had sections closed and diverted to the road due to Water crossings. most people ran the road. once past 11 south the trail up to lake in the clouds was in really good condition with ample snow all the way to the top. the south boundary trail (11) was a superhighway all the way back to 102 and 102 was almost as good as 13 to 101, smooth and twisty. 13 south out of Bergland was choppy to the Root Cellar and trash south of the root cellar.. The trails south of the lake were a mix of good and we t, we stayed away as one of crew went that way the day befoore we arrived and siad to avoid. Hope this helps, it was snowing as we left yesterday and they got 3-5" so everything should be improving.

Honestly, that area has been such a disaster for so long now, I don't see why anyone would even head that way. Just came back from Hurley area and we found plenty of good riding around there. The few people that I talked to that headed towards Berglund and Silver City said it was terrible in that area.
