Sketchy River Ice Riding w/pockets of open water. Would you?

Some dedicated riders, but sketchy river ice! I think i'd still ride it though. You?

Nope! Been there and done that. I used to ride quite a bit on the rivers and still do sometimes out of necessity. It's all fun up until the 6 minute mark on this video and then the work begins and the bills start adding up. In my experience, stay clear of the rapids and fast moving currents. Rocks are an obvious hazard but not just for crashing, the ice will be thinner around rocks, pillars, etc. Your best bet is to ride with a buddy or a group in case you get in trouble like this.
