What's your suggestion for carbide length for a 09 switchback, 1.25 in ripsaw, no studs.

I always ran 6" on my 121s but am thinking 8 or even 10"s might be better considering the longer, deeper track

Also curious about aftermarket ski recommendations mainly for trail riding, or is there a wider ski for boondocking that will give improved trail performance too?

thanks in advance for your help

Snodogg, I have a 2010 polaris switchback 800 with 108 studs up the middle. I put the USI X2 skis with 6" shaper bars, on. I have approx. 400 trail miles on so far and love the skis. They are very easy to turn, aggresive, and seem to be go in the powder. The are definately wide, a little more then my buddies c&a's on his renegade. I will have a better idea of off trail capabilities after this weekend. The adjustability of the ski's are really nice compared to most. Everyone I spoke with kinda of talked me out of the longer carbides in terms of steering effort, I also added a power steering plate which helps with effort. I am still dialing the suspension in, cant keep the inside ski down comming out of the corners. Hopefully after the weekend i will have it set up properly. Lots of choices out there, Polaris ski's just kinda of stink in my opinion. You could try the shaper bars first, then if you dont like em, switch to different skis. Let me us know what you decide! -Jonathan

I would run simmons skis on that sled. We put them on my dads 2006 switchback 600 and couldnt be happier. There is always carbide touching the ground and the ski flexes to soak up the bumps a little bit better. I would not by any other ski.
