I see a 2 piece connecting rod.. with rod bolts like my v8 Chevy. Is this something Doo has always done? I've never seen that on a 2 stroke before, but the last engine I had apart was my 98 liberty 600.

No normally have to split the case to replace rods.

Prices realy are better than i was expecting. 13,500 retail for renegade X 850 4 year warranty. Usually get about 1000 off that from dealer.

momoney, doo is saying the p drive is maintenance free for the life of the vehicle. Does this clutch not have a spring? I just don't get how a spring will last forever. Unless is somehow doesn't have a spring, but in a vid i watched, it sure looked like a spring was in there. Any info here?

I gotta say, Im digging this engine for sure. Earlier I said I didn't think the new sled was a game changer, and I don't think the chassis is(mtn chassis), but I have a feeling that the others are going to be doing some hard research on how to make long lasting engines. IMO, the etec, and ptec cranks were not good at all. But this new design looks to completely get rid of all the previous issues. Including a MUCH better clutch, at least in theory anyway.
If the chassis turn out to be pretty good, I might have to become a "doo snob" in 2018. lol We will see next year when they hit the snow.

Not sure any primary is 100% maintanence free but this appears to be as close to that as anything. Here is a pic. It has a spring but i suspect we will be seeing much less spring force than we are used to due to much less friction, resulting in longer lasting springs. Also the Pdrive will have an optional tuning kit with spring tuning shims, different weight bolts and clicker adjustments you can add to non summit models. The different bolts will act similar to pin weights for fine tuning, spring shims will let you fine tune shift with the same spring.
