Skinz tunnel bag

My brother recently purchased a 2016 Apex XTX. He is looking for the Skinz tunnel bag that fits this sled. He can't find any available new from any vendors, so I'm hoping to locate a used one for him. Any help with this search would be much appreciated.

Not completely sure where it mounts.

Best to advise your bud to check out bag mounting on an Apex. Bags mount on the seat above the rear exhaust. This bag doesn’t look feasible to mount any where but on the tunnel and would get fried by rear exhaust.

The bag has heat resistant padding and is intended to be mounted on the tunnel. It gets great reviews, but no one has any inventory.

That bag will fit nicely on the back seat of an Apex don’t mount it on the tunnel no need to do that expose to heat and exhaust stink. Yamaha sport bag is similar to that but has more compartments. I don’t know availability of the Yamaha sport bag but probably a few still around.

I would agree with that statement. Heat resistant material is all well and good, but the exhaust would literally be blasting right on the bag due to the fact the "tunnel" is not that long like you see on the Doo's. Since I've never seen that bag I can't claim to have any first hand knowledge, but I do know the sled.

Very true between afattack and myself we have had 4 Apex know the sled and shocks. I would suggest your brother research the SS rear shock the 16s were bone rattlers Yamaha totally blew the rear calibration. I would suggest a coil over Elka shock mainly because I don’t like fooling around with air shocks for rear suspensions. That stock shock was super hard and Yamaha recalled 16s or 17s can’t remember which year but should have recalled both. Also go with Yamaha single keel stock skis with aggressive snow trackers tuners skis suck. With those improvements your brother will have an outstanding sled without them it’s a lumber wagon.

as long as the heat shields actually work that looks like a good use of empty space. $174.00 US dollars...

That location will be a soot haven.....that exhaust doesn't conveniently go around where that bag is sitting. Get a pair a new or used yamaha saddle bags....they will carry 10 time as much and are well behind your feet/legs.

That's what I use and would recommend. One set last me around 5,000 miles until a hole wore through on the bottom. you can fit a lot in them.
