Sled crash

Unfortunately I heard of the first snowmobile fatality this season- I stayed at a friend of a friends camp last year in 3 lakes WI, and got a report his 20 year old daughter who had been riding almost her whole life hit a building about a day ago, and died in the hospital. May not be a really accurate scenario, as i heard this 3rd hand, but the point is we all have probably ridden a little fast or a little bit excited on the first trip of the year (throttle thumb)- it can happen to anyone- if you are out and about this month, be considerate of others, and please don't crash into me and my daughters or wife on our first trip between xmas/new years. On a brighter note- let it snow!

You never know how far reaching things of this nature can be. My son is home from school and gets a text message from a good friend. They all went to school together and were home for the Holidays. My son commented that he was just sitting with her a few days earlier.

I will not post where she attended as I am not sure that is proper, but she will be missed by a large and great group of young adults at this school.

Prayers to the family and all her friends, including my son.

I had a scare last week in Indian River on the railroad grade. A deer jumped right out in front of me and clipped the right side of my side. No damage just a nip. A split second could of changed the outcome. I won't say how fast I was running but put it this way there wasn't any grass growing under my feet! Scary stuff. Be careful be safe!

On TV tonight that she tired to stop they saw braking tracks but it was very late at night & police still investigating. She did hit a house from the road. At 20 she had a lot of life still to live. Slowing down & having studs can't hurt.

Below is a copy of the WI DNR Fatality Report for this year. This is not a good start for the season! Please keep the Drinking till after the riding is over. The choices we make could effect you or someone else for the rest of their lives. Have fun but be SAFE... Life is too short!

My prayers are with her family. i can not even fathom the loss of a child.

No disrespect intended, I'm just curious. When a 20 year old leaves a bar with a BAC of .213 and is involved in a fatal accident, will there be any legal repercussions to the bar owner?

She can drink in a bar if her parent is with. Sounds like she was with her father.

I heard the same on local news, that she was with her father. However, I think we should reserve final judgement until all facts come to light. But if in fact dad enabled the young woman to drink to a .213BAC and then ride a sled....WOW
