Sled for the wife ? Ski-doo GSX 600

Wifes 02 Ski-doo legend has 15,000 miles and time to start looking. Thinking a Skidoo GSX 600. ? How do they handle in the corners and the bumps? Thought about a 1200 but not sure about the weight pushing in corners? Maybe even a Renegade? Have any input for the nicest ride and cornering? No off trail riding. Something easy for a gal to handle.

Thanks

GSX would be a great choice. They have a little softer ride than an adrenaline, plus electric start, reverse, mirrors and already wired for a heated shield. Perfect

Please tell me that the motor is untouched and you are running Citgo S&S...I love to see high mileage out of 2 strokes! lol

Your right. Motor has not been touched other than plugs, Fogging every spring and cleaning the raves and chainging the chain case oil. Run nothing but Klotz Synthetic oil. My mechanic see's numerous sleds that go down and we both want to see how many miles we can get. Hoping for another 2-4000. We'll see. Believe it or not, your choice!

the gsx would be a good choice but also dont over look either a 550 fan or a 440 l/c there both really good motors if your planning on 12,000 miles without having to screw around with it and reuild

The Renegade would be a good choice. The reason I say that is the 1.25" 136 track would inspire more confidence.

I have a 05 Renegade now and just sold my 05 GTX 2 up last year. Both had the 136" track but the difference was HUGE with the 1.25" lug. A lot less spin and it tracked so much better.

The 550 fan motor is a good suggestion also. It is offered in the Renegade chassis this year and would be worth looking into.

I rode a older sled over the weekend with a 1" short track on it and was blown away by the difference of traction and amount of spinnning compared to the longer 1.25" track on the 'Gade.

I ride a 07 600 Blizzard now and it rides rougher than my wife would like. Seen some gades but not sure if that would be to big to handle for her? I never drove one. I'm sure the ride on stutter bumps would be great but not sure how it would be going into the corner's for her. Would it push in the corner?

My Wife Has a new 09 1200 Gsx 4 Tek and is finally satisfied. She rejected a 08 Gsx and a 05 Gsx and kept driving her 02 Legend. The new XR Chassis is the best for the over 40 Rider.

I have never talked to anyone that has a new Doo 4 Tek that doesn't like them.

Girlfriend rode my castoff 2000 MXZ 600 for a couple years until I made the mistake of letting her try my GSX. Yep, we had to find her one. Mine's an 05 and hers is an 04, but other than graphics they're the same. Good handling, great fuel economy, and she can now do those long rides with few (if any) complaints.

Word of advice -- if you get one with Precision skis, ditch them and go with aftermarket, 'Doo Flex skis, or Pilots.

Does your wife notice any push in the corners due to the extra weight of the 4 stroke? Also is the trottle touchy as far as backing up in reverse?

Thanks

My sister has the 2010 MXZ X 600 E-Tek and loves it. The colors are red/white. It uses oil by the drops and she just got 30 mpg over the weekend.

It does not push in the corners with plain Pilot Ski's and the Throttle is very touchy. She is used to the Throttle now and likes it, but it took a while.

My 09 GTX ETEK did push in the corners with the SL Ski's. I put them on my 05 GTX before I sold it and have the Precision Ski's on my 09 GTX and they work better than the Pilot SL Ski. The Pilot SL Ski's stopped the darting on the 05 GTX and worked good on that Rev Chassis.

If you are scared of the 4 Tek, get her a ETEK XR Chassis. We have 2 ETEK's and 1 4TEK and both Motors are great. When we start my daughters 500ss it brings back old memories of lots of Smoke. Both of our ETEK's have 5000 trouble free Miles.
