Haven't bought a new helmet for quite a few years and plan on getting a new one. I don't want helmet with goggles. Need heated shield. Anyone have any recommendations for a reasonably priced helmet?

Thanks.

Scorpion EXO-950 I think it was around $200 another $100 for the heated sheild. Modular style, nice being able to raise face when short stops on trail.

I bought the EXO 950 Joint seals fine had the electric face shield fog over on
second use. Castle is making me jump thru hoops to maybe get a new shield
under warranty, shield would not clear after days. I have to return it to them
for inspection on my dime and it may take 2 weeks. I bought this for a two
Week out west trip and could not use it

Let me repeat- the FXR Torque X is hands down the best helmet on the market. Heated shield and you can wear goggles with the shield down.

Have you had any air issues through the joint?

No air leaks.
Never had an issue with the electric sheild not clearing. 50 yds with it cracked open, lower to seal stayed fog free for ride. VERY Cold when I was using it morn temps -20, only warmed to like -5F.
My problem with it was I made the mistake of taking off the chin air dam. Thought it would help kepping breath from being an issue. My mouth area got way cold compared to my MX style with goggles.

How does the goggle strap not interfere with the shield closing.

I have a castle 950 heated shield, and I couldn;t make the shield fohg when power is on to shield, highly impressed with how well it heats up
and I have 1 lung, and huff and puff like mad thinking about doing anything, never mind actually working hard LOL

I will admit the shield SUCKS when its not plugged in
and the first crack position on the shield IMO is too HIGH< should have a finer opening for just letting air in

Only real flaw's I can say with helmet for me has been if riding in a lot of snow dust and or sleet rain
I had a bunch of ice build up on the pin that holds the modular part closed, making it harder to close or OPEN, , if enough ice builds up there

but that was only once in a sleet rain and then a lot of snow dust, that was like a perfect storm for build up

and the drop down orange or what ever color it is, IMO is useless, and it rattles some, if you don't like rattles, it can get annoying, BUT it can also be removed, much rather if it was a black in color than !

other wise a nice helmet for me, warm dry, as quiet as any I have had, MAYBE a tad heavier than some others??
and NOT
IMO there AIN"T no perfect helmet out there yet!

someone needs to make one that has a electric shield with a small battery pack ON helmet, so NO more darn cords, heck MAYBE throw a small solr panel on top too to charge it as you ride too LOL
