sled in s-10 front-facing???

Can you put a sled in the bed of an s-10 front facing? I'm guessing the wheelwells are too close together.

Friend of mine used to do it. One ski up, one down. Lot of sled hanging out the back though....

Thanks...sounds like it's not the best solution. I was thinking about trying to find a cheaper truck that I can pay cash for and still put a sled in the back. Sounds like full size may be the only way to go.

A S-10 should have no problem pulling a single place trailer!

When I sold my 03 RMK 700 144 a guy from Colorado showed up at my door with a long box S10 and that sled hung out a long way past the tailgate. Headlights pointing towards the sky. He had a 26 hr. trip back home. I never did hear if he made it.

That's not a bad idea...but I like the idea of not dealing with the trailer. I have a newer car now that I will likely sell to reduce some debt, but I thought about just putting a hitch on that. Probably only use the trailer 2 to 4 times a year anyway.

How long was the bed in your Tacoma?

It was an 01 Ext. Cab. I THINK it was a 6' bed.

I saw this past winter a guy with S-10 that he built a plywood deck just above wheels and had sled on top of wheels. also had little door at back to hold gear under the deck.

build a deck use 2x4s with plywood on top should be high enough to sit flat that way. use to haul a 07 phazer to lando 5 or 6 times a year that way in a explorer sportrak. tried it with my renegade but stuck out to much for my comfort.
