Sled Issues

I ride a 2009 rmk 600 with around 10k miles and a top end rebuild at a shop. Last weekend I rode one of my buddies newer rmk 600 (both all stock) and it felt like it had a ton more power and lift even though they have the same HP new, is this just a side effect of the sled getting older or is there something I can do to try and get some more power back?

try a new belt. depending on how worn the one on your sled is you will lose some bottom end power. a new belt should fix that.

there is a lot of speed to be found in proper adjustment and alignment from the chassis to the drive line, a friend of mine and long time rider in our group had same sleds (Polaris 600 touring) a year apart but there was no comparison in performance, he had a clutch kit and secondary spring, along with studs. Me bone stock except jetting changes and attention to alignment and adjustment. Night and day difference in performance between mine and his and he would get irritated as he "paid" for performance. Outside of having to pay for a couple jets... all I did was turn a wrench. There are so many variables in finding speed and performance without having to spend a dime on "go fast" parts

Suspension set up can make a difference?

With 10,000 miles on it, Clutch rebuild, weights, pins, bushings, rollers, belt. Often the most neglected part on the sled, should inspect & service yearly at the very least every 3 thousand miles.-Mezz
