This stolen sled thing is complete crap. Maybe its just me, but it sure seems like there is more stolen stuff this year than in years past.

I dont care who I have argued with, or who I think is a D-bag, or who thinks Im a D-bag. NO ONE SHOULD HAVE THEIR STUFF STOLEN.

If everyone thats missing stuff would post pics and detailed descriptions, I would like to write this stuff down and put a post-it sticky on my dash. I drive up north almost every weekend and I am gonna keep a look out.

So if you have any distinguishing stickers or paint jobs, even registration numbers, whatever that might be helpful, post it up.

I know that this is the cops job, but lets be real, their main priority is not looking for stolen sleds.

BTW, just to clear it up, Im not trying to be Clint Eastwood, if I actually do see some stolen stuff, Im calling the cops, Im not gonna approach anyone.

So please post up your missing stuff.

I hate to say it but the thieves are more than likely chopping these sleds up and selling the parts. I agree I think it is the economy and people are hungry for money and survival. So this is bringing the thieves out in droves.

One of my accounts is a foundry that makes man-hole covers, their customers have reported that they have to actually permanently secure them to prevent theft due to the price for scrap metal!

I keep mine locked away in the garage with a network camera on the driveway and entrance at all times. Call me paranoid but I trust no one anymore. Thieves suck but what can you do. I also keep a bait can of gas in my pickup box marked premium that is full of water and sugar mix, I've had too many stolen from the pickup box while away.

time to buy lo-jack for the sleds. this is crazy. or start rigging the trailer to explode when touched by someone other than me.

… If everyone thats missing stuff would post pics and detailed descriptions …

There's a great suggestion there. Get out your camera and take some clear detailed photos of your sled, trailer, etc. before they are stolen. Include serial numbers, registration stickers, trail permits, identifying marks etc.

Ditto to above post, then e-mail your pic, and discriptions to any of us resort owners so we could possiably keep an eye out for these items. Everyone likes to show off their sleds,trucks,and trailers,it's a man thing.Like girls that want to show off their rings,blings and name brand what ever. We would be happy to keep an eye out.

Thieves=Fertilizer

That's exactly what I think thieves should end up. I will also keep my eye out for stolen items, just give a detailed description on the items. For the most part all of you are correct about parting out the sleds and trailers but there is some idiots that want to the chance it and actually ride the sleds and thats how most of these idiots get picked up. Also too, for those who see a lot of traffic in an areas where it isn't normal call the Police, for example, abandoned barns, empty pole bldgs, 2 track trails, wooded areas, your neighbors garage who's been laid off for 2 years, etc. Most of these idiots work in area groups and if one of them get caught in possession of a stolen item he/she will squeal on the others and then eventually everyone gets caught and at least the person gets some closure. You might be surprised but 80% of all thefts and break ins are committed by the very people you have either invited in to your home or befriended. If I see any stolen sleds, trailers, etc. I will call it in to the Police.

For those who fell victim to these idiots, I feel for you!
