We are planning on going to the Cadillac, MI after christmas with the kids and we are wanting to try out a snow coach or similar trailer for behind the sled. Does anyone have one or know of one that may be rented for a day or two. I hate to buy one for 3 grand without trying it, the kids may hate it....

2 years ago our son was looking for one. Anytime he heard or saw one for sale he would call and it would be sold already. He called on 4 or 5. He ended up buying a new one. Used ones are very hard to come by.

yeah that is what I am finding out too, i had the same trouble with a 2 place tilt trailer with a cap, hard to find a used one, I finally did and it is a great trailer, of course it won't haul 2 sleds and a snow coach. Where did he find the Snow Coach? How much did it cost?

snow coach at costco online

they got it online at Costco.com....I've been thinking about it.... I believe it's only 2400.00 or so..

Depending on your trailer and sleds, you may be able to shift your rear end of the sleds all the way to the edge of trailer and get the Snow Coach in. I watched friends of ours do that in a 2 place enclosed.

Sorry I didn't respond sooner but we left on Wed. morning and just now got home. I just asked our son where he got it and he couldn't remember the name of the place but it was somewhere around Shawno WI. He paid $2,300.00. Hope you can find one.

You might check with Indian river sports center. I seen 1 outside when I was there in October. Do not know if they sell them or rent them.

I asked the same question a few years ago. I did have the opportunity to try one out last year, and the kids did love it!

Also last year they were all over ebay this year the only ones I have seen are out west and out east nothing within the IN, IL, MI, WIS area.

This should be a sign to the people that rent sleds out there get a few of the units at rent them out! I would say you need to be in an area that is family friendly to small kids and price would have to be reasonable. I would think I it would be a low rental fee because there is low maintenance and the units hold the value for a long time. And would last many years not just one or two. Yes, I realize that you would have to set up your sled to tow but that is just something that you needed to make people aware of when they rent. Just a thought.

Whatever you do don't buy and eveinrude open sleigh or cat cutter or any equivalent and expect to have your kids behind you safe and comfortable at any type of trail speed. I originally bought a Cat Cutter and had my kids in it. I didn't get more than 5 miles down the trail at 30 MPH and had to turn around and get my kids out of that death trap. I quickly found a SnowCoach with independant suspension. Man that was awesome. We could 45 MPH and the kids were in complete comfort. My daughter even snoozed a few times. Well now my kids are older and like to ride on the sled. I sold the SnowCoach last year. Keep looking they are around for about $1400 used. I just want to stress that if you do an old style cutter and are planning on going over 10 MPH you are asking for trouble. Just my opinion.

Hey thanks for the info, I have the same opinion as far as open vs. enclosed, also thanks for the heads up on craigs list, I am in Indianapolis, IN so 780 mile to Fergus Falls, MN, I could buy new for that amount of gas, although I have drove farther for a lot less....LOL
