Snow Event 3 miles west of Pelkie

Hey just wondering it appear two nights ago we got 3-4" of snow and 4-5" last night. What was interesting is the wind was out of the south last night was that real or was something redirecting the wind patterns? We normally don't get as much lake effect as houghton but the last two days we got more. What wind patterns or conditions favor Pelkie especially west of pelkie? Just curious.

Those snows were not from lake effect, they were from weak areas of low pressure.
