Snow Storm.......?

Since when is a "snow storm" 2"-4" or 3"-5"? Have some people gotten soft, or like to add a little drama to things? The snow the U.P. got earlier this week was a "Snow Storm", not the couple inches or so that we got here today. I think John needs to make definitions of a "storm" and send it to forecasters all around the country. This morning on the national news they were in Chicago because they were in the middle of a storm. It looked like barely flurries and maybe a couple inches on the ground. The next time a snow storm is predicted here in central WI, I want to see 12" and blowing and drifting, not 3" and a breeze.

Sorry for the rant! This wasn't really meant to be a complaint, just a real observation.

Agreed, they cancelled the Iowa vs Nebraska bball game that was to be last night for 3-7 inches. Also our local weatherman was outside doing newscast with his hood up and it wasn't even snowing yet.

Yes I agree it's rather irritating what weather news makes national TV and what doesn't. Not many mentions of the Western U.P. up to Copper Harbor. I guess there's not many reporters either

I don't even think the news or weather channel mentioned that M28 was shut down between Harvey and Wetmore. We got 2 if not 3 feet of snow with that deal Tuesday thru Wed.

Watching Channel 4 out of Milwaukee at lunch today, they led the show with 15 mins of storm coverage, including multiple interviews of people "diggining out". How much snow did they receive you ask?... A whopping 4 inches. It seems as if the "wussification" of America has spread to people's tolerance of snow...

That is pretty funny the way that storms are exaggerated in the Chicago weather. They call a blizzard anything snowfall with a 2 mph plus wind and tell you to "bundle up" at 32 F. For a guy from MN it is strange. I would call what I rode thru on my sled in Keweenaw Co last Tuesday a blizzard- it was fun.
