MERCER, Wis. -- A Luxemburg, Wis., man died early Monday morning following a snowmobile accident on Arrowhead Road in Mercer, according to an Iron County Sheriff's Department report.
Kevin Risner, 43, died after his snowmobile hit a sign on the road at about 3:06 a.m., said Sheriff Bob Bruneau.
Risner's death is Iron County's first snowmobile fatality of the season.
Alcohol is believed to be a factor in the accident, the report said.
Following the accident, Risner was transported to the Howard Young Medical Center in Woodruff by Mercer Ambulance.
