These are really cool! Just nothing like pristine winter wilderness.

If one of those tracks had been mine it probably would have come to a stop followed by the imprint of a body lying face first in the snow. Think I could do maybe a couple of hundred yards before collapsing.

The wife and I love snowshoeing and last weekend we finally took our grandkids out for the first time. They had fun and we even spotted a fox den. My wife got them the shoes that leave Bigfoot prints in the snow, so if you start hearing about Bigfoot tracks on the news in southern Wisconsin.....:)

Good to see I wasn't the only one out snowshoeing on Monday, the weather was absolutely perfect. Here are a few of my pictures:

Man that looks great. How long were you out? Looks like you had a little more than just franks or brats with that pot over the fire. Bet whatever it was tasted great out there with that view.

Excluding travel time, we were out snowshoeing for around 5 1/2 hours. About half that time was spent exploring (mine ruins, a small exploratory mine cave, outlooks) and the other half gathering wood, starting the fire, and cooking food. The menu was hot dogs from Salmon's in Luxemburg, WI (amazing for anyone who has opportunity to try them) and fried chicken, which regardless of how hungry we were tasted great due to the flour mixture my friend put together.
