Looks like N IL and SW WI will be getting their first decent snow tonight and tomorrow! Can't wait to plow some snow and mess around with the sleds in the field. We already knocked down the bean stubble and picked up rocks for our "drag strip" this year, lol. Had the itch last weekend so a few of us got together and made a few passes. CAN'T WAIT!!!

DAMN: use 2 are more EXCITED than 1/2 the GUYS I know.

Lol. Funny thing is until I met my husband I never really liked winter. I grew up on a farm and there wasn't anything fun about doing chores in the cold. Intruduce a girl to snowmobiles and she'll do a 180 :D

snoseekr2 I know exactly how your wife feels. I bought my F7 new 3 years ago and I STILL can't wait to get it out every year. Congrats to her on her new sled!

Gettin excited, but I don't wanna set myself up for disappointment. Seems the weather guys around here get all excited to be able to forecast a snow event..they end up calling it a major event or storm, when in reality it ends up being 2-3 inches. Remember when we were little kids, (30-ish some years ago) a major event was 10 or more inches and the school bus plowed it's way through....LOL....Now they call off school for a couple inches. But yeah, HECK yeah, I'm gettin excited.... BRING IT!:D

:D lol I've always loved the snow since I was a kid running the heck out of the good ol cougar! I would be much more excited if I had a brand new sled waiting in the garage. Congrats to your wife and let the snow fly!!!!

Rumors Rumors

While our trails in Illinois don't open until the 15th, Rumor has it that Green County Wisconsin will have trails open if we get 5-6 inches... (per the trail boss)....

Think Snow!

Let's see I can drive up & lend you some of my little helpers for your first ride. lol. You have your choice...2 thumb things, 2 knee things, 1 back thing, 1 core protector & the newest addition 1 ankle thing & heel cushion then a couple of Lortabs & I'm good to go too. 1st ride is always tuf & I need to start riding to get in riding shape. Don't get discouraged no pain no gain. :)

Yeah. I am sure we'll get 5 inches of snow, the trails won't open, and people will go out and trash the base, and it will be dirt by Sun. Hope I'm wrong but it happens all the time.

I wish I was around back then, my dad's stories about some of the bus rides to school are hilarious. There would be this student about a couple miles down the side road off a county road. When they got a big snow storm the bus driver would pull up to the (unplowed) side road and stop, look down it, and yell to the students "Think we can make it?" Of course all the students would shout their approval, so the bus driver would yell " Ok, everybody on the wheels." So the students would pile into the seats on top of or near the wheels and the bus driver would just give 'er. Sometimes they got stuck, so another bus had to come and pick the students up.

Heck, around here they call it off if 3-4 inches are even predicted (rule of thumb is, whatever they forecast we MIGHT get half of it -- usually it ends up sliding just north or just south). It took an act of Congress to cancel school back in my day.
