So I didn't head to the U.P. last week/weekend because I figured it was the only show in town and everyone would be there and rough trails and waaaa waaaa waaaa.... So tell me how it was up there last weekend? Just thinking I shoulda just went but hindsight is 20-20....

Munising was great. Tons of sleds & groomers were out and doing a great job. Great way to wrap up my season....

Came through from the Soo on Sat. It looked like things were going bad fast. Lots of sleds out riding though.

Enjoy watching your videos. Are they all from around 1999?

I rode Vilas and Oneida county Friday and Saturday. Around town of Eagle River was horrible. Trail 10 in Eagle River about 5 miles east of town wasn't bad. The Kimball Creek trail was actually pretty nice. Three Lakes still had barrels on lakes even though the channels were open. Rode trail 13 up from Three Lakes to Eagle River. That was horrible. Very little snow coverage. Had to get last ride in of the season. Eagle River pulled their barrels earlier in the week but since ice fisherman were out on the quads, I ran Catfish Lake back home. Rumor has it the clubs were gonna vote to shut the Vilas system down today.

Sounds like it depends on where you intended to go in the UP.

Calumet to Copper Harbor on Saturday and had excellent trails. Americinn in Calumet and Trailside Lodge were full with trucks/trailers/sleds but we hardly saw anyone actually on the trails all day. Mariner in Copper Harbor was packed due to Copper Dog 150 finishing their on Saturday but again, hardly met anyone on the trails we took.

Driving up it appeared to be hit or miss with trails as some areas looked really good and others bad then good again.

I always hear this place or that place was a zoo but New Years in Silver City/Bergland area I was told to go north but ended up with two days of excellent riding out of Silver City. Last weekend in January we had bad reports all over but went to Crandon and put on over 400 miles on great trails north, east and south. The hotels were full of trucks/trailers and sleds but everyone had a great time and only really saw sleds at the bars/restaurants.

Its been a down year but the trips I have taken (four) have been excellent. Only cancelled one weekend we had planned.

rode friday sat sun- skipped monday and headed home, rode mostly around twin lakes off trail spots - 3 was not great but very ride-able and groomed-
off trail spots were not all tore up so we had a pretty good time -cooked some brats on an open woods fire- (learned from Lenny) took one match and a foot of TP for tinder and ate like cave men - brats on a stick - no bun no relish no mustard! fresh water from the spring on # 3 over by Mass City - just love the UP-
will be up in spring -summer
