So you want to go to Ontario, right?

Looking for a couple guys that might want to do a Northern Ontario trip in the March 5 - 11 timeframe. Would leave Sault Ste Marie or Wawa and include Hearst / Timmins /etc. Could even sneak into Quebec for a couple days if you wish.

I have been riding up there a couple trips per year for over 10 years but my normal 'crew' is either laid up due to surgeries or busy with work or Mexican vacations instead. I have an annual permit itching to get used.

A normal days riding up there is an easy 300 miles. I'll be happy to be challenged if you like to pile them on.

I'm near Green Bay but can easily meet up about anywhere - even on the north side of the border. Call 920-843-3000 if interested.

Conditions are good from Searchmont up to Hearst and over to Timmins. Can't come back thru Chapleau, but would need to double back to get back to trailer. May even start in Wawa.
Jonesey at Wawa and Groomerguy (Luc) ( those of you who have been there know who I'm talking about) are saying conditions are great on the trail even though snow levels are down.
Trip is going to be fine.....

Both are great guys. Luc pulled up on a skidoo 1000 on a Sunday to check on us standing out in the middle of the Magpie with a blown motor in one of the guys 600 Revs. He diagnosed it. We towed the sled to Jones (35 miles) and they set up a guy to haul the sled back to the Soo for us and then set us up with a rental. The broken sled delivery guy hauled the rental back to Wawa for us. You gotta love those Canadians.

Please give us a trail report when you get back.

My son and I were planning on going this weekend, but we are going to Paradise instead.

Looks like we will be going to Wawa on the 17th. 3 days riding. Probably to the Abitibi Canyon and back.

Not to put a damper on your plans, but we had a trip planned for next week (this Saturday to next Friday) with Algoma Sled Tours. They called us this morning and cancelled due to trail closures and snow conditions on the "open" trails. We were planning on taking the train up from Sault St. Marie to Wawa and riding to Hearst and making a loop back to the Sault. Bob from Algoma Sled Tours is a really stand-up guy, but he wouldn't cancel a seven-sled group unless things were really bad. He told us its the worst conditions he's seen in thirty years and they're expect sunny and 40 degree weather all week and into next week. What a drag, I was really looking forward to this trip!
