I want to thank Dave and Lori from the Wildlife Refuge cabins. There cabins are top notch. I know most people go up that way to off trail ride but me and the wife went up to get one last trail ride in. Dave got a hold of the DNR to try and get permission to use twin lakes groomer for one more groom. Then he went out and groomed. He came to our cabin to let us know he went out and groomed and how far he went. Made for a great last ride. Thank you Dave you are a asset to our sport. The only disappointing part of the weekend was on Sunday on trail 109 some people decided to decorate the trees with there beer cans. No worries who ever you are the wife and I cleaned them up for you. I dont get it why would you leave your trash on such beautiful trails. You got it in there so bring it back out with you and dispose of it properly. Tread lightly and leave it the way you found it. Dave thank you for making our last ride of 14/15 one not to forget. We will be back

That's cool to hear, glad you got a good last ride in! I also applaud you for picking up those beer cans, not everyone would do that.

BTW, I see this is your first post! Welcome to the site. :)

Thanks Dave for all the time you spend in that groomer!
Its not an easy job! I'm in training to help groom and its not an easy job!
There is a whole lot more to it than sitting in a seat and driving!
I wish I would of rode 109! 10 cents a can, I could use the gas money!

Yes hard to believe Dave was excited to tell us he groomed the trails and you know he was probably up most of the night driving the groomer. Dave also had friends up he was going riding with on Saturday. The wife and I normally are picking up garbage here and there but it's normally the stray map that fell out of some one sled.

I can only comment on Dave's integrity here. He was grooming for another group the weekend before last while we were up there and riding with us during the day as well! One **** OF A FRIEND he and Lori have become over the past ten years! A couple who give Yoopers a good name for sure!
As far as the littering, we picked up a bunch of crap in the woods as well. Even found a shovel and a chocolate milk that "looked a lot like David's!, :).

Love going up there!

Scottking where are you training to become a groomer operator? Dave was telling us how he has to adjust the drag and how he held his breath while on the the fire bridges due to the snow melting along the edges of the bridge. Grooming takes a lot of commitment I applaud you always nice to see more operators. I would love to do it but not much call for it in northern IL.

I am training on the same trails as Dave! but I hope to take any route other than the one over the Firesteels! only a few inches of forgiveness and off ya go!
The thought of that drop in a groomer give me the tingles!
I'll stick to the easy straight trails till I get better at it!
I went north on 3 with Richard and when I turned around by the Toivola Lunch and came back, it looked like I was hammered drunk! wavy all the way! LOL
Proud to be a member of the Superior Snowmobile Club! I just wished I used the trails! ha ha
I prob ride 25 miles a season on the trails!

From what Dave told you are getting trained from one of the best. Dave was telling us how much Richard is very active in maintenance of the groomers plus he has been doing it for a long time. He is another great asset to our sport. We call up to Krupp's to get s honest trail report and we have stayed there more then a few times. I am glad to see they will have more help next year. Dave told me that they all volunteer there time while north of Houghton they get paid. Well from one snowmobiler to another thank you its people like you that make this such a great sport.
