the bluff

It used to be a last day of trip tradition for us until a few years ago no trespassing signs and tape were across the from trail access, we asked in town and were told a developer had purchased the land and there were going to be no more hill climbs either, so needless to say haven't been back there for years. Think we are talking about the same place hope this helps

I was there a few weeks ago and the gate is open and there are no signs posted.

Just south of houghton, where when going north towards houghton the trail makes a hard right, you go off trail down a small hill and follow back to where the hill climb is, very steep, rutted out at top, you can also go up the back side of the hill too. Very intimidating looking up but worse looking down it

where the trail splits (one goes to houghton the other idk) there are power lines thats cross over. Yes, you have to go off the trail onto the power lines then just follow the tracks. 90% of the tracks will lead you to it.

It would be really fun to hit that area if they got like a foot of snow and you were the first one. The times we have been there it's always like a darn hill climb competition. It is sooo tracked up and rutted out. Most days you could climb it with a 500 short track I would bet! Cool area, but definitely attracts A LOT of people.
