Southern Wi Winds

I moved to Walworth Wi (just W of Lake Geneva) about two years ago from Naperville Il. It seems to be very windy here most of the time. I understand there are times that where it can be very windy about any place, but it seems to be the norm around here. Any ideas why? By the way I have loved your website since the days of the Ole' Pol-Cat!

Hi Larry.

Walworth and Naperville are close enough to each other in the big picture of things that there really is no reason why one would be more windy than the other. Perhaps the region has just been windier since you moved and you just do not see it in Naperville because you do not live there anymore.

It may also be possible that there were more objects in the Naperville area that slightly slowed the surface winds than in Walworth, but from a pure weather standpoint, there really is no reason I can see.
