Curious if anyone has any input on Allegan, Van Buren, or Cass County MI? Anywhere from Niles to Allegan to stay on the trail vs trailering? Thanks.

You can stay at one of the hotels in South Haven and ride directly to the Kal-Haven Trail. Althouh I think they are calling for rain on Friday.

There is a place in Allegan right off the trail. I had the option to save $10 and stay in the old motel section, so I did. Spend the $10 and get a good night sleep in the new building.

Once again just like first snow. Everything was gone and mud before this last snow came. Again it was just powder and a bit of wind in areas. Snow bands set up good but not very wide. My guess is not rideable. I received probably about 10 plus inches of snow at my house over the last couple of days on my trailer, yard has about 5 inches in it maybe and I am protected by woods. Where I work we have about 3 inches on the ground. Guys I talk to at work who are from all over Berrien, cass, and van buren county say the same thing. 8" in one spot and 5 miles down the road 3". If it is rideable it will be rough and not a whole lotta fun. If you got nothing to do and no time to go a few hours north go for it but don't expect much. I have not checked MSA or other sites yet to even see if trails are open.

Drove past the SB southern trail head. Looked in the 10-12" range. But the two sets of tracks that were there, looked like a snow blower was taken to it.
Rideable, Definitely! But worth a two hour drive, probably not on my fun scale. That said, I'll probably still load my stuff up and make the 1/2hr. drive this owning while its still there.

I drive through this morning around 11:45 on 94, it was snowing good, they shut down the East Bound Lanes at the Decatur Exit due to Multiple accidents, good thing I was headed west, there were 3-4 really bad accidents and about 15 other minor accidents with 12 or so vehicles and trucks in the ditch. That was within a 1-2 mile stretch just east of Decatur, they picked up a solid 3-4 inches quickly, then a few miles west past Hartfod the snow was gone. I got off in Hartford for gas and it was blowing all over. I wouldn't want to be the first one down the trail seeing how the snow depth changes from one spot to another. I have ridden these trails for many years and you might be good in one spot and then riding dirt in another, I am waiting for the system snow to fall Sunday before I make the drive and venture out.

Figured I would jump the gun before anyone asks.

Most everywhere down here got 8" plus last night/this a.m. Very heavy, Very wet, Lots of drifts, but no base before it started, in fact no snow before it started. The roads THAT ARE plowed with only 1/2" of slush on them make ya squirly. We are in the 30's and will stay this way. 40's this weekend. If you have any snow in your yard go grab a bowl full, put it in the microwave for 20 seconds and look at it and see if that is what you want to travel to ride in. I would not drive more then 30 minutes or at all to ride in this.
