Spousal fishing license question

going to finally put our canoe in the water we have had for almost 3 years and my wife and I want to toss bobbers so we need a fishing license and I purchased a "spousal" license but its not real clear as to what it is but I am assuming that a "spousal" license means as I am the primary holder that then my wife is also covered and I do not need to purchase a seperate license for her for general inland lake fishing . I thought it used to be called a "family" license, just want to be sure what I bought covers both of us. All the DNR sites up by us are down and have been for a while, not sure what's going on with that.

Brian I know you are saying the dnr is down but have you tried just calling they I’ve always had good luck with that

Jim, yes I have and when I have moment to the wait times are always excessive to tie up one of my lines here, was just hoping someone knew the answer. BTW that hand pruner is still on BO and we have been instructed not to take any pre paid orders for them either at this point, I will let you know when and if they become available, finally got a couple extra batteries in we have been waiting for for months. i dont see things getting better anytime soon either, just got anothe price increase from the other manufacturer we represent, 3rd one in less than a year and this one applies to everything including to back orders we had already committed to cost on. UUUUGH!!!

The spouse license just gives both a you a discount as a married couple. You both get a license

I did it on line but it really doesn't explain completely, all the DNR computers are down at the walmart, fleet farm and at the bait shop where our place is and have been for weeks. yes I know...she is/was afraid of water as well, our lake is 18' deep off end of pier, I bought her a nice life vest and she clamped on to the ladder for an hour before letting go, still wears jacket but hey..she is in the water. We will see how the canoe thing goes, will likely stay close to shore to keep things copasetic (if you know what I mean) Thank you for the response! I appreciate it!

I just learned about the spousal license the other day while trying to get mine online but after a couple of failed attempts I gave up an just got her a regular license wasn't worth the hassle and thought we needed it that day but weather took a dump. Was an odd error saying it didn't not recognize my info yet it was in the system. Although no canoe fishing for my wife yet or should i say no kayak fishing as she is still learning but I know she would say that is what the boat is for.

Actually had same issue, when I wanted to add my wife it kept saying it couldn't find her, 3 attempts I gave up but an hour later it finally went. I had bought a 20' bayliner about 3 years ago was a beautiful boat, figured we would use more than our lake michigan boat as we live right near river launch for tichigan lake, have a few other inland lakes near by home, have a place up north with close proximity to lakes. Only problem...in sheboygan county no motorized boats on sundays and we dont head up north until after we close shop on saturday useful time was limited. We used the boat a total of 1 1/2 hours that year, and I would bring it back to shop, see my lake michigan boat sitting there, one morning I went to hardware store got a for sale sign and away it went. If you remember my other posts, racoons moved into the cabin on my lake boat and we had to remove all upholstery from dining area to the sleeper and that is as far as I have gotten. The canoe is always ready to go, even though it hasnt gotten wet in 2 years either..... FRUSTRATING
