I'm heading out for 3 weeks to Sun City in middle of April. Hope to catch up with a cousin in Glendale, a MI friend from way back and just hang out.

Looking for some ideas of local flavor, places to go, special sights, and things to do.

Camelback Mountain and the Superstition Mountains are nice. Lake Pleasant is awesome although I don't know how warm it is going to be. If you are into old cars head over to the car show Friday night at McDonalds in Scottsdale. If you can drive to Sedona that is a cool town, head to Slide Rock State Park or take a jeep tour through the area while you are up near Sedona. Keep in mind the water at Slide Rock will probably be freezing this time of the year. And then of course there is always baseball and golf. There is a great Mexican Restaurant in Cave Creek as well. The name slips my mind but the food is real good. And for Pizza I go to Grimaldi's or Oregano's, hope this helps. If you do make it down to Tempe check out the Chuckbox Restaurant for lunch near the University. It's different and pretty cool, plus the burgers are really good.

Take an overnight to the Grand Canyon. Old Town Scottsdale in the evening for food and shops(they have chairs so the guys can sit outside while the women shop).
