Republic Wireless - Sprint Cell and data coverage in MI-LP & UP and Wis
I found a fairly new cell provider today and I'm thinking about getting rid of ATT after 15+years (for the most part I'm happy with my ATT coverage.) My biggest complaint is I want one device but do not want to pay for a Data plan. 80% of most of my days are with in WIFI connection range. Anyway I found this all inclusive cell/data company today. There are some catches but seem to be worth it.
The company is called Republic Wireless for $200 for the first month (including the phone an LG Optimus) then $20+tax each month there after and you get everything included. One of the catches is that you mainly use WIFI for all data and calls. If WIFI is not available then the phone automatically jumps to Sprints service leading to my question about cell service in MI-LP & UP and Wis.
From what I read as long as you stay under there usages guidelines your ok. If I read everything correctly you can use up to 550 minutes, send 150 texts, and download 300 megabytes of data without crossing usages guidelines. For me that is more than enough without WIFI.
One thing I did not see covered on the website was what happens if you are in the middle of a call and you change for WIFI to Cell or Cell to WIFI I would think your call would be dropped if you went form WIFI to Cell, but I not sure.
Has anyone heard of this or are you already using them?
