St Urho's Day, Finland, MN

We ran up to the cabin today to pick up the sleds and bring them home for the summer. It's ST Urho's weekend and today was the parade. Quite a festive event for a town of 50 people.

We saw Miss Helmik (she's choosen from a drag contest the night before) and lot's of other scary things but it was a goood time

Then on the way home we stopped at Gooseberry Falls. They are running pretty good right now.

Hey Elf - sorry we missed you! We stopped at Our Place for supper Thursday night....partook in some of the festivies at the Apollo (sp?) Friday night. Saturday - we did trailer the sleds to the trestle and road some of the fire roads - they were actually quite fun! So thanks for the earlier advice.

Sorry, I failed to post this on St. Urho's Day! (March 16th) — I plumb forgot, [FONT=Verdana,Arial,Helvetica]St. Urho's Day is always one day before St. Patrick's Day.[/FONT] Sigh. My mind is going!

Of course I suppose the official St. Urho's Day drink has to be a Grasshopper! (With a purple beer chaser?)
