Just purchased a 24' enclosed trailer, on the back door that additional flap that is hinged there is a hinge, this one is aluminum and is damaged a bit from carbides, would like to replace it with a stainless hinge. I need it to be 68" long, I admit I haven't called the trailer mfr yet but want to replace it with something better than it came with, any suggestions?

are you referring to going to individual hinges instead of one piano type hinge? did you also put one in the middle for support? as I said the original one was aluminum and the carbide runners did a number on them, just wondering if 2 hinges will be enough
Ditch the piano hinge style and go with the hinge on each side

I have had a trailer with both. My legend has the hinge on both sides and it is plenty strong. The only downside I see is that it is a slight tripping hazard compared to the piano hinge.

I would post up a pic of what I’m referring to, but I’m on my phone
