Starting Problem

We have a 2000 with a Fuji 600 it will start fine but after riding for awhile and shut it off it will not start without sitting for some time. We checked spark and you can see gas going thru the line but the odd thing is the plugs are dry. Yesterday we changed plugs and it fired up, the plugs that were changed looked good btw. But after riding for a short time shut it off and would not start again. Any ideas of what else we could check? Thanks in advance.

This could be a number of things, such as a faulty ignition monitor switch, check the return of the throttle against the switch, perhaps not returning to the right position, if not, adjust the throttle. If this is a carb fed motor, perhaps some debris in the bowl floating around, pull, inspect & clean them. Have you checked the vent on the gas tank? this could be plugged creating a vapor lock in the fuel line. Check the simple stuff first.-Mezz

Also check to see if the fuel pick up line in the tank is ok, they break off in the tank because of the bad gas.

Did you try holding throttle open a little when starting hot?

Yep, tried holding a little, tried holding it wide open. Everything we tried it acted like it did not want to fire.
