Stillwater MN to Hayward WI

I want to ride from Lake Elmo, MN to the Hayward/Cable WI area. I can pick up the trail on Manning Ave in Lake Elmo, but from there don't have a clue.

Have any of you done a ride like this and have it mapped it out. I am open to ideas. I am not looking for a partner, just thoughts on the route.

Thanks.

Instead of waiting for the Wild river state park (sunrise) crossing to freeze up, which takes awhile to freeze, you can go to the St Croix State park and head in to Wiscony that way.

Keep 'em coming!

Thanks for the replies so far. Any other route suggestions from Stillwater to Hayward will be appreciated.

I think I'll head to Taylors falls and cross there, and just keep picking up trail maps as I head NE...
