Studded center and no outside wheels

I have a 2010 IQ Shift 600 that has 96 studs in the center only. The sled came with 2 wheels in the back in the center but no outside wheels. I was going to put them on but then decided not to.

Does anyone understand what the difference is with and without the outside wheels? Do you think that it's going to hurt anything having the studs in the center only?

I run 96 studs in the center on my '10 Shift as well, no issues, but did add the outer rear wheel kit-may not be necessary, but I just like the idea of more support for the track as it rotates around the rear of the skid.

Also, if for some reason one of those 2 inner wheels were to go bad for some reason, the other wheels will help.

The sled would be more stable in the corners with the outside rear wheels.I know when we added the wheels to the fire cats they did'nt roll as much in the corners.

Okay, this is some good insight. I wasn't sure what they accomplish. What is the advantage of not having them on the outside?

X'2 xcsp. I also added an extra set of idler wheels to help with high fax wear and keep the track stable. I also have only 84 up the middle and love it!!!
