I need to do a shout-out to the Superior Snowmobile Club and the Sno Valley Riders Club. I just spent the past two weeks in their areas and the trail grooming and maintenance was exceptional.

Thank you to the dedicated operators and volunteers who take Yooper hospitality to new levels. I've ridden all over the country and this is the most reliable area for snow, grooming, and friendly faces.

Happy Trails!

Great to hear! How was 13 south of Rockland? I'm heading up again later this week and that area has been a problem.

I don't go west of Rockland that way much. It's usually rough, I think due to the underlying road. My activity was mostly Rockland and north, plus south to Bruce.

Happy Trails,
Glenn

They are grooming 13 South of Rockland very little
, if any. They are grooming down to the intersection of the rail grade to Ontonagon and turning around. At least once last week they turned around before going down the hill to Rockland from the North. They are also mostly neglecting 12 towards Silver MT. We were there from the 19th thru the 26th. 13 loop, and 3 were taken very good care of. Grooming out of Ontonogan wasd a bit sketchy also. Snow conditions were fabulous and traffic low for the area. Lake Gogebic, GRTA, Silver City, Superior out of Twin Lakes, and all points north was Fabulous. Grooming around Amasa, Sidnaw, Watersmeet, Bruces also excellent.

I had the same observation as vx700 a couple weeks ago. Luckily I broke off from the group and could pick up the pace to ride the tops of the moguls. Wouldn't want to make a habit of that but had to get back. Too bad there are some issues there. Nice trail.

My understanding is the Superior club is not responsible for 13west of 137 anymore. They used to go down to Norwich road but now the Ontanogan club is responsible for 101 to 137. Call the Ontanogan club.

I agree with old abe. It is interesting. That is the section that seemed the most neglected.

Ontanogan, or North Country Snowmobile Club, has had 2 of their 3 groomers down for a while. They hope to borrow one and have another going by Friday night per their home page.

Good reason, and very understandable. Sub zero weather is rough on any equipment, period!

mspease, thanks for the update.
I had talked with one of the drivers and he said it was tough going with less equipment. I honestly had no idea they were also doing that section of trail.
Wish I had gotten the driver's name. He was a great guy and took the time to talk about the trails. Wanted to know what we were seeing and where they could get better.
