I know how much work is involved for small communities to provide for tourists, and I want to thank everyone we met during the week for a great vacation. Groomers, bartenders, cooks, innkeepers, everyone just busted their hump to make our trip a success. Food was good, beer was cold, everyone was friendly even though it was busy.
Highlights-
-The searching for Lenny effort paid off, finally met him at the Pit Stop AND he paid up on that beer he owed me! Thanks Lenny!
-Trails were worn out beginning of week, but the 6 in of new snow Friday and Sat helped immensely.
-If anyone happens to find a left hand gauntlet in the parking lot of the Pit Stop please leave it with Trisha and I will get it next trip...thanks!
-Speaking of Trisha...bartender of the week award again this year (that's three years out of three), but it was a close race between her and Michelle in Lake Linden. She pulled it out on the last day, kinda like a shootout victory!
-The former mayor of Bergland makes great pancakes
- If you leave a California boy (my buddy) behind in the cold northwoods he will make his sled go very fast to catch up.
-Special thanks to Polarisrider and his recent post on why he rides off trail ("because you can't see this at 90 mph on a trail"). I taped the picture to the inside of my windshield as I left Krupp's and now I can see it!
-A drive belt disintegrating while looking at PR1's picture makes two things...a lot of noise and very small pieces!
-Mmmmm, strudel!
-Mmmmm, pasties!
-Spending an overnight in Copper is worth it
- Mrs. Running Bear will make you a great pizza if you show up late on Superbowl Sunday hungry and with no reservations...Linda, you are a sweetheart and we thank you!
- $19.95 for a prime rib AND a lobster tail is an amazing deal
-The Bergland Bay Bar at the end of a long day is a beacon of hope, the bright red neon shining in the distance, guiding you like a bright star on the horizon. Tom, Becker, Becker's daughter whose name I cannot remember, thanks for the warm welcome back every day.
And of course, thanks to Tim and Sarah at the Timbers Resort...the tradition continues!
