I want to thank Nick Keller, the Snowball Cancer team, and all those whoever rode with Nick during his time on Claudia! Nick brought Claudia home as many of you know on 2/23/2020 which was the day she passed back in 2011. Time does heal wounds but I have to say I couldn't hold back the tears when Nick came around the building on Claudia with my son Wyatt on the back, and to see all those other riders who took the time to ride on a Sunday morning following right behind him was very touching. Sometimes emotions just sneak up on you and release without control and that sure happened to me! When Nick got off the sled and pulled the key for the last time he had tears running down his face. What a true testament to the type of man Nick Keller is. He really cares and it was very emotional for him as he was close to my mother. Lots of family, friends, and employees showed up. I'm so grateful for all those great people we have around us, and many of them are on this site. Nick also broke the record the day my mother passed away so it's a very emotional day for Nick for more than one reason. They were and are certainly connected. Take the time to tell those around you how much you care and love them. More importantly, show them! Thanks again to all!!

Sorry I couldn't get there Kip. Talking with Nick a few times in the weeks leading up to it I could tell it would be a touching day to say the least. He is a very humble man. He felt very honored to have your Moms name on that windshield. I could tell by talking to him. I was honored to ride the Valentine 500 with Nick and Claudia. Also a few rides that were a bit more casual. Its a great story with great people!! Awesome!! Glad you got her home!! IMG_20160211_105808942.jpg

What an emotional moment that had to be for you Kip, thanks for sharing the story! Top it off with your son on the back, man, I need a Kleenex please. How many miles does that sled have on it now? The guy I work with from GroomerTracker said they put 700 miles on in one day a few weeks back. Just amazing. Quite the guy for sure.

He shut it off with 32,649 miles which is my mother's birth date. 03/26/1949. Thanks Mark! Amazing man for sure!

That's really cool with both dates. The date he brought it back on the anniversary of her passing and the miles right down to her birthdate. He put lots of thought into that and obviously your mother was highly thought of. Love it!

what's the long term plan for the sled? Become part of the shop, take it home and put in in the man cave? Great story thanks for sharing.

Scott, it's on the showroom floor and will remain there. I will either buy Nick a sled or make a healthy donation to his cause!
