Theft of Snowmobile Accessories in UP - Beware

Just spent three great days snowmobiling between South Range and Copper Harbor. Trails were excellent, as were accommodations at the Wildlife Refuge Cabins. Beware however & protect your gear while off trail. Lost accessories on two sleds (detachable bags and contents) while having lunch in Copper Harbor:(

The Mariner. Filed a police report & informed management.

I just bought a new bag at Pat's and would be pissed off if that happened to me! Good thing you filed a police report....freaking low lifes...Mariner has good food and has been an excellent pitstop. Sorry this happened to you.

Appreciate the note. My hope is that by posting the incident awareness will be created. If it continues to happen (hope it doesn't) an alert business & riding population will catch the offender(s).

Mariner management didn't mention any cams. They are nice people and were very disappointed/concerned this happened.

That sucks, I'm hoping to head that way later next week, don't want to lose my new bag. Hope they figure out who did it and you get your bag back.

So the heading states theft but your post states lost. Are you assuming they were stolen from you or did they fall off? Just wondering, because I have lost stuff but never had anything stolen while up there.

The accessories were stolen. Specifically from two new Ski-Doo sleds with detachable LINQ tunnel bags. I have been riding for years in the area and have never had an issue. I enjoy the people I meet in the UP and believe it is a GREAT community. The purpose of my post is to create awareness so that other riders can protect themselves. Regarding the word "lost" I utilize it from an economic standpoint (i.e. I have suffered a loss). Other posts ask if they fell off as well. If it were just one sled...maybe. But not two sleds; and not where other riders in my group (all riding together on the trails) wouldn't have see something from behind as I lead the rides. The combined loss (both sleds) is hundreds of dollars and includes contents such as sno-bungees, spare gloves, lithium flashlights, miscellaneous safety gear. I do appreciate your reply & Good Sledding to you:)

I use ty-wraps as extra security on my bags. I wasn't thinking about theft tho... just falling off.

Whats the actual value beyond if it's some expensive Doo accessory...I'd never leave anything of serious value on a sled. I bet it fell off yur sled.
