My dad passed away a few months ago and the night before his wake, someone broke into his house and stole jewelery, coins and tools from the garage. How can anyone get lower then that? In the area these kind of things have been going around. So far, no one has been caught.

People are really getting lower on the human scale. There was a woman on the light rail in minneapolis having a seizure and three young punks robbed her while she was unconcious.

well around here we had a POS steal a donation jar for a young guy (with a family) who is terminally ill with a rare brain tumor. Can't get much lower than that.

we had a bad case of this occurring in my jurisdicitiion a couple years back. These theives were just a step lower on the "scumbag" chain and would wait until the greiving families were at the visitations or during the actual funerals to commits their crimes. One things this recession has shown me is how hard times financially as individuals and as a nation truly brings out the worst in people. I remember when I was new to law enforcement listening to "old timers" talk about how crime goes up when the economy or peoples bank books go down. Never having truly experienced a true recession as a adult i had little to relate to their discussions. I guess I now know the true side on how bad people will get......

Contact the Portage County Sheriff's Dept. I happen to know they have either a suspect, or have made an arrest in similar type crimes. This is a local group of jackasses who need to be taken to task!!
