ALTO TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WOOD) - Two people died in a snowmobile crash early Sunday morning in Lowell.
William Robert Hatchett Jr., 39, was driving the snowmobile southbound on Timpson Avenue south of 52nd Street with 19-year-old Sparta resident Kristin Louise Stowie when the Lowell man lost control of his Polaris 700.
He and Stowie were ejected when Hatchett's snowmobile hit a tree, Kent County sheriff's deputies told 24 Hour News 8.
The pair was pronounced dead at the scene from blunt force trauma. Alcohol likely was a factor in the crash, according to deputies.
