Time and Distance Estimates??

Anyone have an estimate at the time and distance this route would take? Starting in Butternut, ending in Butternut, would anyone not recommend this route with something better in mind?

I did a similar loop a couple weeks ago and was 14 miles from Ashland. I started in Park Falls and went north (14 miles from Ashland) and over and then down though Clam Lake back to Park Falls. It was 170 miles and took 6 hours with minimal stops and fueled twice. The route you are talking about is likely 50-80 miles further so add another 2-3 hours. Of course this is just a guess.

The route you are taking, from Park Falls would be only 65 miles to Hurley, just a bit shorted from Butternut.

has anyone ever gone out on that peninsula, north of odanah, snowmobiling? is it safe? looks like it would be a cool playground and view.

Don't understand how this route is possible since there is no trail east of Ashland due to the indian reservation..

It is not possible. I just drew it freehand....so we will go as far north east as possible, then start looping back....

but is what i asked in the previous post possible?

Sorry, i meant to say north west. Does anyone else have any insight on this loop?
