Tire recommendation - minivan

Need tires for the family van. 2012 odyssey. Any ideas? The OEM continentals are about worn out after 47k, which seems ridiculous but about the same as I've seen with other tires on new vehicles we've owned.

We've had good luck with Michelin primacy mxv4's on sedans we've had, and that is one of the recommendations for a minivan, but I'm wondering if due to the size and weight of a van, if we'd be better off getting more of an "SUV" tire for it.

Wife drives it daily with 3 little kids in it, and it's the vehicle we use going anywhere with kids, so getting the right tires is more important than trying to save a little.

Have a 2007 Odyssey with well over 100k on it and put on Cooper CS tires. we haul kids also and have gotten 60k out them.

We have an 08 Odyssey with 140k on it, the last 80K are on a set of Goodyear Assurance Triple Treads that come with a 80K mile warranty, they have been a great tire for the van and still have great tread left. I only got 40k out of the original Michelin Energy LX4. The next set of Uniroyal Tiger Paws only got 30k out of those.

Cooper CS4's suck. Have to run snow tires they are so bad. Goodyear Triple Tread is a great choice if you can get them in your size. We have a 2008 Dodge Grand Caravan.

Is that more of an SUV tire than a car tire? Did it impact the ride at all? I know it's a minivan but I don't want it to ride bad either. Those are an option in the size I need.

We were up near Eagle River last weekend and the OEM tires sucked on any snow. They are toward the end of their life but I wouldn't consider them worn out yet.

I have the same van with almost 45k but our OEM tires are Michelins. We are no where close to needing tires at this point. I will check which ones and let you know.

No it's a car tire. I would call the ride quality a bit on the harsh side and they are a bit noisy too. I love the way our Nitto snow tires ride....nice and soft AND quiet! The CS4's went through the first winter of their lives.....no more. Nitto snow's last season and this season as well.

The tread pattern on the CS4's is pretty aggressive so I would have thought they'd be good on snow. Nope....tread compound is too hard IMO...like a set of Michelins that came OEM on our new 1998 Town & Country.

Sales dude said the CS4's were great on snow. Last time I listen to any sales guy!

I bet you have the primacy's but I would be interested in what they are. I didn't know at the time Honda puts the Continentals on some and the Michelins on the other. I'm sure some Continentals are good but I can't believe these are already basically worn out.

Because of Costco pricing, all I've bought before for my vehicles are Michelin's. I've read a lot of reviews online for Goodyears that people seem to have good luck with on vans. We don't get a ton of snow where I live in Indianapolis, but when we do, they don't always clear it quickly. Plus we drive up to Eagle River once or twice every winter as a family.

Are the Michelin's you can get at Costco the same Michelin's you get at a tire store? Aren't some tires bought by WalMart and the like built to their spec's and are not (i.e.) a true Michelin/Goodyear/Goodrich/etc.? I've read this for years....

I really like the Goodyear Triple Treads. EXCELLENT winter traction. Had them on our vehicles up until our 08 DGC. Can't get them in the size needed for our DGC.

You guessed it, my van has Michelin Primacy MXV4's. Back in the day I sold Honda's and the owners manual packet would always come with 2 different pamphlets for 2 different tires, not all of the same model have the same tires.
