Sounds like some awesome riding can be done.

Togwotee Pass reporting 20" new and a base of 75". Still another 6-10" to fall with this current event.

Sure hope Carter takes some pics during his ride today! And shares!!

Laramie (in the desert) has 8-10" new already with more on the way. Snowies must be getting hammered too.

I was checking the Tog pass snotel last night and saw the base at 75", and it was snowing at Brooks Lake Lodge. Some of the best riding of the year? The snowies are under a winter storm warning also. No vacation time till August (stupid hernia surgery), and , well, no money to head out there either.:( If it keeps up out there, they will be riding into June for sure eh?!:D

Carter, hook me up! Not everything in Jackson needs carpet. I can do working vacations anywhere, I will bring tilesnake with, so some work will actually get done. I prefer to tile at 8500 to 11,000 feet in the great state of Wyoming. wink! wink!

Checked flights today for the weekend....ouch. Figured maybe Carter could hook me up with a sled. Certainly don't think I'm up for another drive out there this spring.

Heading to the Snowies for Memorial Day weekend with Chuck. We were there two years ago at the same time and the riding was Deep.. Just talked to my friend that lives in Centenial and he said they have 10-12" in the valley, so that means even more up top. Can't wait.

May 15 Togwotee Ride

I was amazed!!! Looked like a pristine powder day with NOT ONE track in sight. Rode Game creek into Split Rock and WOW what a time we had. Went with Justin, one of the other guides who is here for a week. Snow is not hard or crusted. Its soft till the sun gets high and then it gets softer. Good carves come in the afternoon. The snow is still great to ride on. Usually at this time of year one has to watch for the frozen water droplets to colapse from heat and the weight of the sled making the sled stop instantly by falling through. Never happened once. The creeks are still covered and safe. We did find a little water in Split Rock creek down toward the trail. Found a crossing and that was that. I really think we can ride for at least 2 more weekends. It is warming up here. The rain and snow pattern is gone and one has to be careful of the drop through thing the next 2 weekends. I'll have my friend Scott post the Pix. I took. Its suppose to rain next weekend, so I don't know, but I am going to try for a last ride Memorial weekend. In truth we really did have a good day.

The rich get richer! I was in the California Sierra Nevada mountains the last few days and some spots still had a ton of snow. I drove Hwy. 88 and saw a few places where snowmobile trailers had dropped sleds for some nice-looking riding. Mammoth Mountain near the southern end of the California Sierra Nevada reports an 8'-12' base still and is planning on staying open until the 4th of July for skiing.
