What is the best route to get from Tomahawk to Eagle River and how long should that trip take, any suggestions would be appreciated.

Can't go now----Onieda hasn't opened their trails. And by the looks of our weather, it may be quite a while yet!

For when it actually snows...
Option 1 -- Take Trail 86 east across Lake Alice to trail 49A north. Connect to 17 north all the way to McNoughton. Take 12 East to Sugar Camp then north on 217 up to Hwy 70 then turn right and head into town. You can also bypass Sugar Camp and take 12 all the way to 3-Lakes then head north on 13 Alternate into ER.

Option 2 -- Head out of Tomahawk east on Trail 16 through Harrison Hills. Where Lincoln/Langlade/Oneida Counties all meet turn north on trail 15 and then 13 to Starks and 3-Lakes. 3 Lakes north to ER using Alternate 13.

I would guess that either option is +/- 90 miles one way. The second option might be longer due to trail 16 twisting around through Lincoln county heading east from Tomahawk.

my 2 cents...option 2 far better...scenery is much better. Trails that direction less traveled and as a result in better shape.
Option 1 is a nice ride just like 2 better.

Another option if you are looking for maybe a quicker route might be The Hiawatha/Bearskin to 12 to Lake Tomahawk, take (a trail ending in 70) to St Germain and then over to ER. Something like 75 miles probably.

Anyone know how much snow is in Tomahawk area? Was told needed another 6" before decent trails there? This was of today 1/26/21
Thanks!

Everybody in the northwoods would love more snow----very thin all the way around. Can you run, yes, but very icy and snirty. Oneida County lake trails are not open as of 2 days ago.
