Torn carburetor boot

Would a torn boot cause idling problems? The sled wouldn't idle last season and I thought it was a carburetor problem but discovered a torn boot.

Sure can. It can even burn down a motor cuz of leaning it out

Like sweeperguy guy said no doubt can cause a idle problem. It is a vacuum leak causing it to run lean. Seems more common with ethanol in the gas. Has been a problem for Ski-Doo for some time now. Just replace mine on my 16 tnt 600 etech with boysen reeds. There boot is not part of the reed cage.

Fix the boot then compression test the motor. Same thing happened to one of our older sleds. Had to do a top end.
